Is therapy right for me?
Therapy is a very personal choice for an individual, couple or family to make. Truthfully, no one can decide for you. You are your best resource to decide if therapy is right. However, to assist you with your thoughts on this some of these reflective questions may be worth your consideration. Do you feel like things are changing the way you want or as quickly as you want them to? If you had a good friend or family member going through a similar situation would you think a therapist could help them? Do you feel like you have a reason to seek therapy or counseling? Are you stuck? Do you want more out of life and want help to get there? Are you frustrated with the progress or growth you have made with your solo efforts? What will happen if things don't change? Is someone in danger? Do people you trust make reasonable suggestions to seek help? Reflecting questions like these and others sometimes help you get a different frame of reference than what you may be used to. Therapy could be useful to every person, couple or family. Therapy is "right" for anyone who is willing to come, even when they may not want to be there.
